With the physics, terminology, and basic understanding of an HVAC system, it is time to focus on two very important components: the evaporator and condenser. Although they hold many similarities, they are very different, and play distinct roles in the system. The course starts out with the evaporator, introducing its functions, some new terminology, and methods for quantifying its performance, such as superheat and delta T. Next learn about the condenser functions and its quantifiers, sub cooling and condenser split, and what those values translate to in the system. Some maintenance techniques are explored as well, such as coil cleaning and diagnosing mineral deposits.
