The Metering Device course explores the multitude of regulating valves in an HVAC system. The thermostatic expansion valve, TEV will be introduced and you will learn how it adjusts to maintain superheat. You will learn to identify valve types and discover how they are fitted to a pipe, as well as, differences in external and internal pressure equalization. Discover TEV bulbs and their roles in regulating superheat within the system, along with proper placement and methods for installation. Learn the unique model codes for some common manufactures and the functions of several different kinds of metering devices.
